How We Plan?

A good kitchen design should fit your cooking style perfectly like a tailor-made suit. The design team at Homaa have developed the unique 5-point Design Matrix. A unique planning tool that helps us design a beautiful and practical kitchen fully customised for you.

Ever wondered why a kitchen looks so beautiful in the showroom, but when it is installed in your home, it just doesn’t look quite the same?

That is because the kitchen installed at home is not as co-ordinated in colour, style, material and finishes as the kitchen in the showroom is. Even the type of lights you choose need to go with the style of your kitchen.

Co-ordination requires wide knowledge not only of colour but of materials, textures and finishes – and a fine sense of aesthetics in interior design as well. Homaa designs your kitchen co-ordinating every element perfectly, to give you a beautiful kitchen that you will cherish for many years to come.

COORDINATING ELEMENTS

Mismatched Kitchen vs Corrodinated kitchen

Look at this example. The kitchen looks quite mismatched because of the colors and feel of the wall tiles. The base units and the wall units just do not complement each other.

This kitchen has perfectly coordinated colors, style, textures and finishes. The key to a beautiful kitchen is the perfect balance of all the elements that make it up.

Deconstructing a Modular Kitchen

HDHMR

This is a product that has been introduced by board manufacturers a little less than 5 years ago. It combines the strength and screw holding capacity of plywood with the water and termite resistance of WPC to make it one of the best materials in the market. It is not to be confused with MDF which is a medium density fibre board.

PLYWOOD

One of the most experienced, versatile and evolving materials. The quality varies to a huge degree from manufacturer to manufacturer but the basic structure consists of one millimetre thick sheets of wood being compressed together to form eighteen millimetre thick plywood boards. Each layer is treated with chemicals so that it is termite resistant and water resistant to a great degree. It is one of the best materials to make furniture and kitchen cabinets from because it has a great load bearing capacity.

Acrylic Shutters

These have an aesthetic quality that can make your cooking space look bigger. Pasted on HDF/Plywood boards as 1/1.5/2 mm thick sheets, they give you a finish that’s highly scratch resistant and can last for years..

Glass Or Painted Glass Shutters

Glass or  back painted glass shutters give a striking contrast when paired with other kitchen materials like laminate or wood. They accentuate the elegance and style of your modular kitchen..

PU-Coated Shutters

PU-coated shutters give a seamless and sleek look to your kitchen space. They’re available in vibrant colours, are glossy smooth and highly durable. They’re comparatively less scratch-resistant as compared to acrylic shutters.

Natural Wooden Shutters

If you’re looking to give your kitchen cabinets a unique and rustic charm, go in for natural wooden shutters. They’re available in oak, walnut and teak finishes, and are waterproofed with polish for protection.

Lacquered Shutters

As the name indicates, these shutters are simply made by painting the wooden or metal surfaces with liquid lacquer. When it dries, it forms a shiny and hard surface.

Aluminium Profile Shutters

Profile shutters are finding ways into people’s homes owing to the variety of colours it’s available in. They’re extremely sturdy if fitted with sliding or lift-up hinges. They also give a light appearance to your kitchen interiors and hence are soothing to the eye too.

Veneer Shutters

They give a classic vibe to your kitchen, thanks to the natural grains of wood. They’re durable and long-lasting if cleaned and polished from time to time. You can choose from a variety of different colours if you want.

Laminate Shutters

Laminate kitchen shutters are the most popular and easy to use shutters. They’re abundant in terms of finishes, patterns and colours like gloss, matt, suede, emboss, etc. You can count on them as they’re durable, smooth and moisture/scratch-resistant.

The stylish execution of integrating these accessories in a practical way keeping in mind personal preferences of the client is the hallmark of a HOMAA kitchen.

Appliances transform the modular kitchen, kitchen platform design, and by extension the entire house into a fancier, more functional, and more convenient version of itself. Also, there have always been great innovations in this sector but they have increased exponentially over the past few decades. So, brands such as Bosch, LG, Siemens, etc. have transformed the game of smart in built kitchen appliances. Some of the must haves in a modern kitchen are – Built-in oven, fridge, dishwasher, hob and chimney.

Considering that this surface area is the first element that attracts the eye, as well as the most mess, it is important to choose a countertop that;

  • Looks good and pleasant
  • Will withstand the cooking activity of your household
  • Is priced within your budget without a compromise on quality

At HOMAA, we prefer Quartz, Solid Surfaces, Granite, Contemporary Slim Stone, etc

Buyer's Tips

This will be useful for clients who already have the kitchen platform ready. Like a newly handed over apartment from the builder :

  • 1

First, go inside the kitchen and take a walk, that you are feeling comfortable or not. Assume how it will get congested when 2 people will work simultaneously in the kitchen with you.

  • 2

If you are not able to move easily in the kitchen, then it will be more difficult after trolleys, appliances and other stuff once placed in the kitchen.

  • 3

If you are uncomfortable with the existing kitchen then plan to make some alterations, like changing platform position, extension or moving it to another place.

  • 4

Before making any alteration make sure you select the right color for the kitchen countertop, wall tiles, and make suitable changes for electrical appliances also.

  • 5

Make sure you get enough sunlight in the kitchen to work in the daytime. Otherwise, you will need to install the lights below overhead storage (above platform) and in the ceiling also.

  • 6

If you don’t have a window in the kitchen (rare case) then plan to have a chimney above hob/gas stove to suck the heat and smoke from the kitchen.

  • 7

Now, list down all your required electronic appliances like Microwave Oven, OTG, Mixer Juicer, Hand Blender, Dish Washer, Aquaguard, Chimney, Concealed Hob, Flour Mill (Atta Chakki), Waste Crusher, Refrigerator etc. Because you will need to plan the position at a particular place and height with the electrical point as mentioned in the above point.

  • 8

Also, list down the utensils with small, medium and large sizes like spoons, knives, crockery, masala bottles, large grains storages etc. All utensils should be planned according to your convenience of using it in a specific place, height and distance with by its weight.

So, as you can see there is so much planning needed for a perfect kitchen and there are many more technical aspects not mentioned here.

We can understand that you are not a kitchen expert or interior designer, but here at HOMAA, we make your planning stage easy.
